If you’re actually talented and you’re sitting in big tech, you should at least ask yourself what game you’re playing.
Have you thought about how this is going to play out? I understand you may be at a place where you are insecure about money, and that insecurity is what drives you. But why do you think having more money will fix that insecurity?
Zoom out.
If labor gets fully marginalized and capital compounds into the only real power center, you don’t get to win by saving more. In that world, access itself is gated. The best systems, the most powerful models, call it GEMINIxxx at $1B/month, are owned by the people who already sit on the stack. And they’re smart enough to separate you from whatever you manage to accumulate: through precision advertising, financial engineering, regulatory capture, soft coercion. You won’t even see it happening.
Money won’t protect you in a neofeudal regime.
Feudal systems at least needed peasants. Grain required hands. You could tax labor because labor mattered. When grain is machine-produced, labor is structurally irrelevant. The loop closes without you.
So the answer isn’t “accumulate more grain” or “buy equity in the granary.” They can always redefine the rules and mark your assets to zero. Feudal systems didn’t run on capitalist fairness, and a neofeudal one won’t either.
If you’re working inside the largest companies, optimizing for scale, consolidation, winner-take-all dynamics, you’re accelerating the exact structure that sidelines you. Fish eaten by bigger fish, sharks eaten by bigger sharks, until a handful own the ocean.
